Maine Wedding // Today we are sharing a brandnew and absolutely stunning Maine wedding by Brianna Waltman.

Brianna Waltman: “I had the greatest honor of documenting the wedding of Myranda and Kaeson. The two work together as Rafting Guides at Adventure Bound in Caratunk, Maine, so they thought it would be fitting to celebrate their big day at their favorite place! This was my first visit to Adventure Bound, but not my first time working with Myranda and Kaeson. I knew these two would be throwing a big party, but it was so much more!”

Getting REady

“I loved seeing the rock climbing wall on one side of the room everyone was getting ready in and adjacent to that wall hung many, many rafting paddles signed by previous rafting tours. I thought putting Myranda’s dress up with all of the paddles was so fitting to their lifestyle. Myranda finished up her makeup while I ‘caught’ the groom getting ready on his side by side. I laughed so hard when he showed me his socks with Myranda’s face all over them. These two are such a fun and laid back pair. Myranda did not stop laughing and smiling at the ENTIRE day and night. Everyone made their way down a wooded trail into the woods. Myranda walked down the trail with her father as they shared one last drink from their mugs before she said ‘I do”.”

The ceremony

“Now, for the ceremony, the two were surrounded by everyone they love as they exchange their vows. Kaeson professed his heart and soul to her as he counted up everything that makes her perfect for him. Then, he told her he was sorry. TEARS. He told her he was sorry for everything he may not have done right or the things he was wrong for and for things he may do wrong in the future. I honestly lost it behind the camera. For a man to stand before everyone he knows and loves and spilled every ounce of himself into her so graciously and ending it with an ‘I’m sorry” was by far what this world needs more of. It was that moment that the day’s mood immediately shifted. Not a dry eye for the remainder of the day. Myranda’s vows were just as striking to hear and her words to him just as powerful and full stories that built them and dreams they share.”

The Kiss & Party

“As the couple shared their first kiss, the woods roared with celebrations. They made their way up the aisle and we separated from guests for formal photos. We adventured through the woods to the river with the bridal party and took some photos on the dock overlooking the river. From that point on, I don’t think Myranda stopped laughing with joy and happiness. She radiated pure bliss and joy. It started to rain so we all made our way back through the woods to enter the reception for the first dances & speeches. We were served incredible wood-fired oven pizza from the amazing Sabastian’s. We danced to the hits put on by DJ Dan Graff.”

Erica Steward: “Matt and Eleanor have a tremendous love the outdoors. For them, being in nature, hearing the natural sounds, and being surrounded by the elements is therapeutic for them. So having a wedding that was in the midst of nature was very important to them. Matt use to work at Gindling once upon a time. With permission from camp comrades, his happy place became the foundation for the most perfect, intimate, and tranquil wedding location to share with their family. There is no such things as friends to Matt + El, just family.

We loved their heart about the community they’ve created. Every person at the wedding wasn’t just a guest, they were an important part of their story. Family that shaped them. Friends who became family and encouraged them. Relationships that challenged them into asking the important questions and valuing life at a level of continuous peace. It was beautiful.

Every piece of their wedding was intentional. From the nontraditional coordination of bridesmaid and groomsmen attire, to the handmade maps El made, to having speeches and words of love spoken over them during their ceremony. The wedding was the perfect compilation and collaboration of love that painted the most accurate image of their love story. The mother of the bride had been collecting jars and miscellaneous items for centerpieces for the past year. The flowers were hand picked and sourced from local markets. The groom’s cufflinks were handed down to him by each of his grandfathers. Their wedding bands were custom made by a friend of theirs. Every detail at this wedding, was made with intention and with love. And they wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
