Key Largo Wedding // We’re heading towards Florida today. Have fun with this beautiful Key Largo wedding by Chelsea Erwin.
Chelsea Erwin: “Caitlin and Dorian are the epitome of cool. Caitlin is an Actor and Theatre Studies University Professor and Dorian is a Microbiologist/Scientist. I went to high school and was on a swim team with Caitlins older sister. She was the one who connected me with these two awesome people. When I chatted with the two of them about what their vision was for their wedding I knew instantly that we were a perfect fit.
The vision
They wanted an intimate vibe for their wedding with that old Florida flare. Caitlin said to me ” What I envision for the wedding is to have fun with all the people we love most; enjoying the company of a diverse group of people who aren’t likely to be in the same place again, eating good food, dancing and celebrating our love! Dorian and I’s relationship was built on spontaneity and having fun adventures together- and I want our special day to reflect that”.
The details
Literally everything had meaning when it came to the wedding from the details to the handmade dress Caitlin wore. Caitlin’s hand dried grapefruits and oranges which were salvaged from her parent’s house after Hurricane Michael last year. The sand ceremony contained sand from Chile, New Jersey, Panama City, and Hobe Sounds, paying homage to all the areas that they were from. Their families had a hand in all of the decors and setting up that day, which was awesome to watch! Caitlin’s sister, Tiffany. designs insanely beautiful jewelry through her company Studio Uribe ( based in the UK) and designed and handmade Caitlins engagement ring as well as both of their wedding bands. Tiffany also hand sewed the skirt to her wedding dress and had to sew Caitlin in it ha! Her sheer top was handmade by her friend and Charlie Salvo as well as her sister Tiffany. The embroidery was insane and had different sections on it that told a story of Caitlin and Dorian’s story. Caitlin sisters and cousins put together the centerpieces for the reception tables and Angela from The ALTARnative designed some amazing bouquets and flower crowns. Dorian wore a tropical Prada shirt and rocked some awesome white vans.
An amazing day
The whole day was so much fun, full of emotion and lots and lots of dancing. The Bay Kings band rocked it all night and Caitlin and Dorian even got up to play guitar and sing with the band for a few songs. I am so thankful to be a part of these days and get to document these memories. I seriously get overwhelmed sometimes at the amount of love I am shown from my clients and the fact that they trust me with their memories of their wedding days.”
