An Intimate Glencoe Elopement

A wedding story by Bernadeta Kupiec

“A sunset Glencoe elopement in May? Yes, why not? Lucy and Ian love the great outdoors, hiking, and running. Therefore, they chose an elopement over a traditional wedding. As a result, they were surrounded only by the immediate family that might have come that day.

Glencoe – A place to fall in love with

They fell in love with Glencoe on one of their trips. They had two dreams, not counting the element outside. In the background, there had to be Buachaille Etive Mòr (the place had to be easily accessible and flat enough) and the couple photoshoot at sunset.
On Monday after Easter, we met a month before their elopement in Glencoe to scout some locations. The original plan was for a different spot for the ceremony. However, e had to change this plan several days before elopement.”

Ceremony & Champagne

“We checked the weather several times for Lucy and Iain’s Glencoe elopement. But as it took place in Scotland, you must be prepared for all weather conditions. So we took umbrellas just in case. They came in handy—a lot.

After the ceremony, Lucy and Ian had champagne in their room. In the original plan, the champagne was supposed to be drunk outside right after the ceremony. But, unfortunately, the rain changed their plans a bit. So, they went to the Kingshouse Hotel restaurant for a meal with their families.”

The Ultimate Guide For Adventure Elopements

Elopements are a hot topic in the wedding industry right now. Many couples are looking for something meaningful, intimate, and different than the traditional church wedding on their wedding day. An Elopement can give you that special feeling without all the stress of planning a big wedding.

ANTONIO JOSE RODRÍGUEZ LÓPEZ – INSTAGRAM

We are sure you probably saw countless elopement images from Iceland, among mountain tops, and at a beach on your Insta feed in the past weeks. You may have even considered eloping yourself but never really knew how to go about planning one.

Our blog post will help you with everything you ever wanted to know, from ideas to information about the most unique adventures elopement locations, and legal issues.

What are adventure elopements?

Unlike traditional wedding ceremonies and receptions, an adventure elopement has usually no guests, just the two of you, and the beautiful scenery without all the decor and fuss of a traditional wedding.

A wedding couple is kissing each other.

ANEISA SHEPHERD CALDER – THE CALDERS

These intimate elopement weddings take place outdoors, usually in a remote setting where you can be completely alone with your loved one and get married without friends and family.

The only people with you should be the officiant, a kick-ass Elopement Photographer/ videographer, and maybe even a local guide.

Spending time with your loved one…

Elopements are about spending the day with your loved one, and all you need is each other and a stunning outdoor location. There are no formalities or traditions, just whatever you two decide on together for your perfect wedding ceremony.

How much money do you need for an adventure elopement?

The cost of an adventure wedding is far more affordable than a traditional wedding. This is mainly because there are no wedding parties, receptions, or decorations to pay for. Plus, you don’t pay for the venue either!

It still costs some money…

An adventure wedding elopement package can cost anywhere between $3000 – $10000 depending on your location and additional services that you want to add (i.e., photography, videography, officiant, and much more). Couples can also save on costs by making a list of what they want and eliminating those items they don’t want.

To tie the knot in an adventurous style still costs some money, however.

How do you plan a perfect adventure wedding?

Planning an adventure elopement is just like planning a wedding. First, you will need to find the perfect location so you can get married there in style and make all of your friends at home jealous.

A wedding couple is holding each other and standing on a mountain top.

You can Elope anywhere…

You can plan your unique wedding experience anywhere in the world, from your hometown to anywhere in the US, Europe, or one of many other adventurous locations. Some elopement destinations are surrounded by some of the most stunning sceneries that Mother Earth has to offer. Waterfalls, mountains, glaciers, get married anywhere you want as there are no boundaries.

Where can I elope in 2025 – 2026?

Iceland, Europe

Have you thought about eloping in Iceland, the land of fire and ice? The scenery in Iceland is perfect for any wedding and elopement photographer who will take photos of your epic wedding day. You may want to have a videographer with you for an Iceland Elopement as well?

It’s a good idea – believe us! Just think about the epic photos and video that you will have in the end. Iceland is the ultimate elopement location because of its epic waterfalls, black beaches, volcanoes, and glaciers.

Colorado is one of the most stunning locations in the US for your elopement. Imagine hiking an hour through the mountains will reward you with an incredible view and a perfect spot for your intimate wedding ceremony. Pop a bottle of champagne afterward for the ultimate mountain elopement feeling!

Oregon, USA

When you plan an adventurous elopement, you need to consider the state of Oregon with its various epic locations where your private marriage can take place. The Goonies has been filmed in Oregon, what more do we need to say?

Explore Cannon Beach, Crater Lake, Mount Hood – Oregon has the nature to be the ultimate destination for an incredible elopement wedding day.

Italy, Europe

Let’s jump on the other side of the world to Europe. Getting married in Italy sounds like the perfect plan as it is one of the most famous countries for elopements and destination weddings. Nearly every single city in Italy is magical and the perfect place for your private elopement wedding. Hence, we would love to share some ideas with you here on our blog.

Tuscany is one of the most unique locations to elope in Italy. The countryside is gorgeous, with hills covered by vineyards and olive groves. In addition, the medieval towns are also interesting to visit during your elopement or honeymoon phase (and even somewhere for you to start your marriage…).

Also, the city of Rome is an amazing place to explore and have your wedding there in an adventurous way. The elopement locations in Rome are breathtaking. You can elope all around the city, from Trastevere to San Giovanni and everywhere else between.

Have you thought about the Amalfi Coast at all? This picturesque area in the north of Italy is perfect for lovers of beautiful hotels, food, fashion, and much more. Elope on the beach, overlooking the stunning hills of Positano, or plan your ultimate adventure elopement by having your ceremony on a boat in the Mediterranean Sea.

Best Places to Elope

Thousands of couples already broke with the tradition and planned an elopement in adventurous locations in the past years. If you need more information about others places for your elopement, please make sure to read our 101 Best Places To Elope blog post that will help you find the perfect place anywhere around the world for you.

How can I make my wedding memorable and fun?

Elopement weddings don’t have to stick with traditions. This wedding day is about you as a couple, and you should plan your wedding day the way you both want to tie the knot. It is not about your closest friends and family. It is about your life and love, so plan your wedding the way you have always imagined.

A journey you should remember forever…

An adventure wedding is not only about the ceremony in a private and epic spot like a glacier, mountain, or waterfall. Creating unforgettable memories of your adventure wedding actually starts when you plan your big day and ends with hiking to a secluded spot of your choice. Celebrating the ceremony without guests and exchanging the vows is the cherry on top of your adventure as a couple.

Is it too crazy to have an elopement in a hot air balloon?

No, definitely not. If you plan to have an adventurous and unforgettable elopement – do it! A hot air balloon might sound crazy, but eloping is crazy anyway, so why not do it with style? Yes, we really mean a hot air balloon.

Let us be part of your journey…

Please do not forget to send us a couple of your photos so that we can post your adventure wedding here on our blog.

Is there a legal side to an elopement?

Getting married by yourself with no witnesses may not qualify as having been actually married in the eyes of the law. However, this is very easy to resolve. Arrangements for your adventure wedding need to be made in advance, and your elopement should be witnessed by at least one person, which should be ideally an officiant.

Make it official and legal…

Planning your elopement with your officiant in advance will make sure that everything is taken care of legally. They can make all the arrangements for you, such as draw up your elopement contract and give you all the information you need.

What else is important for your adventurous wedding day?

Let’s talk about a couple of things you should keep in mind for that day.

Find the right Elopement Photographer

As you plan to celebrate your elopement without family and guests, you should definitely hire a professional for your wedding photos.

We recommend hiring a photographer who is specialized in taking elopement images and who is also familiar with the destination you’ve picked for your wedding. It requires a lot of work as a team to make an elopement day successful, so please make sure beforehand that you’ll look out for photographers who take photography seriously and who are also willing to go with you on an adventure (i.e., to hike on a glacier).

A wedding couple is in a rowboat in front massive ice blocks at the Church State Park in Alaska., photographed by a wedding photographer Alaska.

GRACE ADAMS – WWWW.ITSTHEADAMSCO.COM

Make sure that the vibe between you is good because elopements are intimate and beautiful and you do not want to spend the day with someone that you do not really like, even though they take amazing images.

Memories that will last forever…

Wedding photos are super important, and hiring a photographer for your elopement is a necessary investment. Your budget for a photographer depends on the elopement location, but you can expect to pay between $3,000-$8,000 for their services, depending on their experience and travel costs.

Travel plan

As we mentioned above, there are no limitations when choosing your favorite place for your adventure wedding. Whether it is tying the knot on a glacier or a top of a mountain where you want to exchange your vows – it is your personal adventure day, so it is your choice. However, to make this day successful, you should collect a couple of ideas and plan your trip wisely.

Flights

You have found the perfect place for your wedding somewhere in this world, and now you are ready to book your flight tickets.

Start planning your wedding at least 6 months prior to your elopement date; not only will it allow you to keep the costs down, but it will also help you avoid unpleasant surprises along the way. In addition, we recommend that you start with booking your flights to be sure of your availability date.

A wedding couple is standing next to the ocean on rocks and holding each others hand in Hope, Alaska.

AMANDA KOLSTEDT – WWW.AMANDATAKESPICTURES.COM

The research for a good flight connection may take an hour or more, but it will be worth every minute; put aside time for this as there are usually elopement locations in remote areas, and you cannot always expect to get there right on time.

Rental Car

We would also recommend booking a rental car for elopement locations that are slightly off the beaten track. It may seem like overkill, but by having your own transportation, you will have more options open to you than if you had to rely on using public transportation or taxis all the time. A 4×4 can come in handy especially if you want to access remote dirt roads or areas that normal cars can not reach.

Holidays are expensive…

Also, do not book your wedding during busy holidays, like Christmas, Thanksgiving, or other days full of tradition. Usually, everything is much more expensive during these periods of time. You will be spending a lot of money on your elopement anyways so try to be smart about it.

Accommodation

Most couples do not want to spend their wedding day tired and work out. Book some extra days before your wedding in a hotel or AirBnB so you can get used to a new timezone or simply want to explore the area beforehand.

A wedding couple is standing on a carpet in the middle of the Saguaro National Park and cheering.

KATIE ROJAN – WWW.KATIEBERGPHOTO.COM

This will also give you time to scout for your favorite restaurant. If you plan an elopement far away from home, it makes sense to get to know a new culture, taste new food, and learn some words of the local language.

Enjoy your stay…

Your accommodation should make traveling to your eloping spot “easy” and be also the perfect place to relax after your wedding adventure.

If you plan to have a reception in an AirBnB make sure to ask for permission first as most AirBnB hosts might be surprised to host a wedding, even though it is a fairly small one. Some couples even bring friends along to their elopement so a permission for guests in your AirBnB is needed.

Licenses & Permits

You found the perfect elopement site and already booked your flights, rental car, and accommodation. Well done, but did you know that you sometimes need a couple of licenses for weddings that are taking place in remote places? A lot of couples forget that, but we are here to help you with this.

Getting married in the wild…

Weddings in a National Park, or nature reserve often require a special permit. It is fairly easy to obtain a license or permit for your wedding, however. Most national parks or reserves charge a small fee so you can have the elopement you always wanted. Make sure to check their website or call their offices.

They are normally extremely helpful with this and will most likely have all sorts of information at their fingertips regarding elopement in their areas and will also share some ideas on where to take awesome wedding photos.

A local guide

It can be a good idea to look for a local guide for your wedding by yourself. If you hire a guide, you can absolutely rely on that the guide knows the best way to hike a mountain up and lead you and your elopement team (photographer, officiant) safely to your elopement site and help make your big day even more unforgettable.

The hidden spots are usually the best

It is also very likely that a local guide knows some really hidden gems. They will know places that normal tourists never heard of and give you ideas on how to make your adventure perfect. You can be sure that the photos of you as a bride & groom/ married couple will look stunning.

Leave no trace

The seven principles of leave no trace are a very important part of elopement & outdoor etiquette. Please make sure to follow these rules during your adventure

  • Plan Ahead and Prepare
  • Be Considerate of Others
  • Respect Farm Animals and Wildlife
  • Travel and Camp on Durable Ground
  • Leave What You Find
  • Dispose of Waste Properly
  • Minimize the Effects of Fire

Respect our world and its nature

Please respect these principles, so you can guarantee to not ruin or damage your ceremony site, and keep it as beautiful as you found it. Having weddings in those places is a unique experience and makes you forget the world around you, but everyone has to respect nature and wildlife at all times!

What to bring (and not bring) on site

Take your time preparing what you’ll need to carry, and be sure to pack a couple of things you want along the trip. Traveling light is super important but you also shouldn’t be cold when the night hits.

The right clothing

Depending on what location you have selected for your wedding, you need to prepare your clothing. This will help you prevent freezing as weather patterns in unknown locations can quickly change during a wedding day. Think ahead and be prepared for every possible change of weather.

ANGELA WALSH – WWW.MINDFULMEDIAPHOTOGRAPHY.COM

Cold weather

If you elope in Alaska, Iceland, or any similar location that is dominated by cold weather, make sure your dress is suitable for these temperatures. Keep in mind that your elopement location might be affected by wind and snowfall as well. Winter elopements can look awesome but don’t forget warm sweaters, socks, a rain jacket, gloves, scarf, and big boots.

Warm weather

Getting married in a warm elopement place like Bali or Hawaii is beautiful but your biggest concern should be the humidity and how it will affect your body. Make sure to dress accordingly and light but always bring a warm jacket in case of the weather changing suddenly.

A wedding couple is facing each other and touching foreheads and are sitting in the Mojave Desert.

MICHELLE CHAN – WWW.MICHELLECHANPHOTOGRAPHY.COM

Snacks & beverages

Please make sure that you and your team do have enough food and drinks to keep you hydrated and don’t turn you into hangry little monsters. Most of your day will be spent taking images so bring enough fruits and snacks to prevent exhaustion and dehydration.

At least some details

Some Couples want to bring decorations like flowers, photo frames, carpets, and candles along for their elopement. Sure, these decorations look amazing in a photo. But it can be a nightmare if you are in an elopement spot that is a bit more remote and you need to hike to your ceremony spot. Consider only taking a couple of things that we mentioned above and that are absolutely crucial.

The Essential Elopement Checklist

Big weddings aren’t for everyone. If you and your partner are thinking about eloping, however, you won’t necessarily want to take off in the middle of the night. Instead, you’ll want to take a look at this elopement checklist so that you can avoid stress when eloping with the love of your life.

Start By Setting A Budget

Eloping is likely to be much more affordable than a big wedding, but you’ll still need to determine what you’re willing to spend. Do you have friends or family members that will be willing to pitch in for your elopement, or will you be funding the entire affair out of your own pocket?

A wedding couple is holding each other and they are standing in front of mountains and a sunset.

Paige Weber – www.paigeweberphotography.com

Your options will be determined by your budget, which is why you’ll want to know what you’re spending and where those funds will be coming from before you start seriously looking at your options. Whether you plan a small, low-key affair or a lavish destination wedding, having a budget on your elopement checklist will help you narrow down your options and put together a wedding that’s right for you.

Look At Potential Venues And Destinations

While elopements are known for being spontaneous, it’s best to do a little planning before you and your partner take off. Think about how far you’re comfortable traveling for your wedding. If you aren’t able to take much time off work, you may want to pick a closer home destination.

A wedding couple is walking through a dry meadow.

Ross Dance – www.rossdancephotography.com

A wedding couple is holding each other and standing on top of the mountain.

Catherine Ekkelboom-White – www.wildconnectionsphotography.com

In addition to looking at wedding destinations as an elopement checklist point, you’ll want to look at venues that could work for your wedding. You’ll want to make sure that you’ll be able to plan your wedding at the last minute. Find a venue that you won’t have to book months or years in advance. For more inspiration, make sure to check out these 101 most epic and best places to elope in 2022.

Check Laws Before You Make Plans

A wedding isn’t just about committing to the person you love most. There are also legal aspects that need to be considered, so put that point down onto your elopement checklist. You’ll need to complete and submit marriage license forms ahead of time to get married in many areas.

Alternatively, you could have a wedding at your desired location and get legally married once you’re back home. You can think about pictures and memories when you choose your wedding venue, and you can complete paperwork at the courthouse later on.

Set Your Wedding Date

After you’ve decided where you’ll be getting married, what you’ll be spending, and have consulted the local laws, you’ll be able to start planning your wedding in earnest. This means that you’ll be able to choose a date for your elopement. Even if you know that you want to get married to your partner as soon as possible, you’ll need to settle on a specific date so that you can make travel plans.

A wedding couple is dancing in front of a glazed wall.

A wedding couple is holding each other and their dog and standing on a mountain top.

There are a few other factors you’ll want to look at when you’re picking a date. Check the weather forecast to see what the weather will be like on your desired date. If you’re planning to elope during peak wedding season, you should be aware that costs will be higher. You may want to hold off on eloping for a few weeks – or even a few months – so that you can stretch your budget further.

Make Travel Plans

After you’ve confirmed a date and secured your venue, you’ll be able to start making travel plans. If you’re flying to your destination, you’ll want to confirm that you have everything you need for your flight. It may be necessary to obtain or renew your passport if you’re traveling out of the country. Obtaining a passport can take time, which is why you’ll want to consider this before deciding on a venue for your wedding.

A wedding couple is holding each other and is standing in front of a brick wall.

Antonio Jose Rodríguez López – Instagram

A wedding couple is holding hands and looking at each other whilst standing in the forest.

Ross Dance – www.rossdancephotography.com

If you’re going to be driving to your destination, you’ll need to decide if you’d prefer to take your own vehicle or if you’d rather rent a car. Traveling with your partner can be part of the fun of eloping. You may want to rent a special vehicle so that you can make the most of this trip.

Plan Your Wedding

While eloping can be a wonderful way to avoid some of the stress associated with wedding planning, there are still some things that you’ll need to decide before you say, “I do.” If you want to minimize the amount of planning you need to do, you may want to seek a venue that offers wedding packages. Check out these amazing elopement packages in New York or California by clicking on a wedding venue link.

If you’re going to be staying at your destination for at least one night, you’ll need to book accommodations. You’ll also want to think about what you’re going to wear for your wedding. While some people opt to wear more casual clothing when they elope, you could choose to wear a more traditional tux and gown. You’ll also want to think about things like flowers, hair and makeup, and a guest list. It’s best if you have a witness at a wedding, which is why you may want to invite a few people to celebrate with you. For example, some couples choose to bring their parents along when they elope. If you want to learn more about small weddings, check out these things you need to know when planning a micro wedding.

Last Point On Your Elopement Checklist: Find The Right Way To Announce Your Elopement

After the wedding is over, you’ll need to find the right way to share the good news with your family members and friends. If you want to avoid shocking people, you may want to send out announcements informing people of your plans before the wedding. This can be an excellent way to avoid hurt feelings when eloping.

A wedding couple is holding each other and standing at the beach.

Henry Tieu – www.henry-tieu.com

Lisa and Alex – www.vowofthewild.com

If you decide to let people know that you’ve eloped after the fact, you may want to make a personal announcement. Be aware that some people may be disappointed with your decision and may take this news poorly. To soften the blow, consider sharing plenty of photos of your elopement. Let your friends and family know how much you care about them and that you want to tell them more about this significant event in your life. Don’t wait too long to make the announcement. The longer you avoid telling people, the more likely it is that you’ll feel hurt.

Norwegian Winter Elopement

Winter Elopement by Christin Eide

“Magical Aurland is, in many ways, the essence of Norway, with fjords and mountains that ties the landscape together. A perfect place to elope if you consider Norway, both in the summer and winter season.

Anastacia and Shaun from Australia came for their Norwegian elopement in the winter season. Originally from Australia, snow is not a typical everyday thing for this adventurous couple. Something so magical. It was snowing big snowflakes and we got a little Disney vibe during our photo session.

Aurland is a municipality in the county of Vestland, in the western part of Norway. The easiest way to get to Aurland is by rental car; 7-8 hours from the capital Oslo or 2.5 hours from Bergen.

The area is, in general, a very popular destination for tourists, who arrive either by car, bus or on large cruise ships to the port of Flåm. Both Aurland and Flåm is at the heart of the world heritage fjord, Nærøyfjord.”

A Styled Moab Wedding Turns Into A Real Proposal

A Styled Moab Wedding / Elopement that turned into a real proposal by The Hearnes

“Oh my goodness, this day was the most amazing way to kick off our 2020 Moab Elopement season!! Schadell fully believed they were just coming to Moab to model for us, and I even asked Rue de Seine to send us some of their wedding dresses (side note, their dresses are AMAZING, but you already know that if you’ve looked at any of these photos!) so it totally seemed like a real elopement styled shoot, but Jamaal had a big secret up his sleeve and he surprised her with a proposal!! She said yes, obviously. But I want to start from the beginning and share this whole story because it was all so perfect.

Who are Schadell and Jamaal?

Schadell and Jamaal are such an incredible couple. She works as a flight attendant, and he’s currently in training to be a pilot, so clearly we connected immediately. A few years ago they were invited to model for a photography workshop and absolutely loved the experience, so they’ve turned it into a bit of a side-gig where they travel to amazing places and model for photographers, which is why she didn’t think anything suspicious about our shoot AT ALL! So, while I coordinated this shoot “with Schadell” I was also texting with Jamaal to set up an official plan for his proposal!

Preparing the surprise proposal

We’ve shot a few surprise proposals before and one of my biggest “rules” is having the actual moment early on in the shoot. I’ve found that it helps the personal popping the question be less nervous (or at least their nerves don’t have to be dragged out for so long!) and the emotions that come after such an exciting occasion make for absolutely amazing photos, so we like to capitalize on them! Plus, the quicker it goes down, the less likely someone will ruin the surprise or something will go wrong! The only issue with that idea was that we were planning to shoot at two different locations that afternoon/sunset, and I knew the second spot at sunset would be the most epic. Jamaal obviously wanted the most epic possible spot if they were going to come all the way out to Moab for this! So, the day before, we changed things up and decided to start with sunrise in Canyonlands National Park and I am SO glad we did because it ended being reaaaaaaaally amazing.

The big day

That morning, we picked them up at their hotel in Moab at 6am and drive an hour up to the top of the Canyonlands. They’d never been to Moab before and arrived the evening before, so it was extra special to know their first real glimpse of the Moab desert would be at sunrise on the edge of a cliff. We arrived up top and they got dressed in our camper (#clutch mobile bridal suite) and to no surprise, the Rue de Seine East Gown sample looked like it was made for Schadell! We hiked down to the overlook, I made sure “everyone had everything they needed * wink wink *” and we positioned out on this beautiful overlook and told them to just soak it in for a minute or two. Jamaal had Schadell turn around so he could “fix her hair” and then he got down on one knee!!! And she had the most adorable reaction – she was so surprised and said “are you really doing this? for real? is this real???” and then after a moment of excited squealing she goes “okay sorry I’ll let you finish” and he asked her to marry him! It was amazing. And we were able to get great photos because we didn’t have to hide at all.

Surprise succeeded!

After that, we let them have their moment and soak it all in, as the sun came up behind the mountains and washed all the canyonlands in the most beautiful golden light. Then we spent the next hour taking some REAL engagement photos for them! It was the best time! We absolutely love being in Moab in the winter, we had the area all to ourselves for the whole sunrise, and it honestly wasn’t even that cold! The north-facing cliffs still had a beautiful dusting of snow, and everything was so quiet. As we wrapped up and drove down, they were still reeling from such an exciting morning. We dropped them off to enjoy their day in Moab (they hiked in Arches and absolutely loved it!) and then I picked them up again in the afternoon for a sunset engagement session (aka the original planned shoot) in another part of the desert.”

A Romantic Elopement In The Woods

Elopement In The Woods // A wedding is a very personal occasion to celebrate. Every single wedding is unique. Couples spend a lot of time, money, and thoughts to make their wedding unique and perfect at the same time. This may cause stressful weeks and months full of planning for them, instead of just being happy and excited for the big day to come.

Planning and celebrating a wedding should be fun

Here’s the thing. A wedding is a celebration of the couple’s love. Hence, the style and vibes of a wedding should represent the couple somehow. It shouldn’t be about what family members or other guests like. I do understand the point when someone says that if you want to have a fantastic wedding party, you need to make sure that your guests should be fully satisfied in terms of food, drinks, and music to rock your day. But, is striving for the guest’s satisfaction really worth all the stress beforehand?

Elopements are getting popular more and more

As you may have noticed, elopements are the new “big thing” lately. A lot of couples don’t want to stress themselves because they decided to get married. Elopements are small weddings where only close family, close friends, or just the wedding couple attend. These elopements take place in locations that are really special to the couple. And this is what it should be about. Celebrating love in a place where you feel like home and happy. Celebrating the couple and witnessing how they tie the knot in a place that’s special to them.

Make it a special day for you

Sure, a couple cannot elope just straight away. There is a lot to plan and to organize as well. But, it is a big difference to most of the regular weddings. You really have the feeling that you’re planning your perfect day, the way you’ve ever imagined it, and not how others like to see your wedding day organized. And this is a thing that makes it worth to plan an elopement.

A Beautiful Wedding In Austria

Wedding Austria // This time we make a quick stop at the beautiful Austrian Alps and take a closer look at the beautiful elopement photos by Kati Schweiger.

Kati Schweiger: “Lisa and Markus married one week before this session happened. We´ve been friends since we were teenagers and I was really honored when they asked me to capture their special day. For their After-Wedding Session, they decided to shoot on this stunning location in the Alps of Lower Austria on a mountain peak called „Krumbachstein“. There you are in between the mountains Schneeberg and Rax, looking straight in the amazing Höllental.

A long way up…

To get up there we had to take this pretty old Jeep from Markus uncle to drive up the way up. Otherwise we would have had to hike for three hours, but this way, we only hiked the last hour up to the top.
Up there, we were almost alone. It was an incredible feeling. The wind was blowing, and the time stood still. We had this amazing view and a magical sunset. This whole scene was blowing my mind off. Shooting at this location, with two such kind and madly in love human beings is the reason I call this my job. I love it with all my heart. Damn, they´re so beautiful.

Fabulous news…

A few months later they told me that on our shooting day they found out that they are getting a baby. Isn´t that awesome? I was so happy hearing this news. Now a few months later, they are waiting full of excitement for their little girl called „Leni“. I wish them all the best from the bottom of my heart. They are going to be such a cool little family.”
