Drone Shots // As far as I’ve noticed, the majority of our photography community ain’t using drones during a photoshoot. Me neither, as I shoot my weddings alone without a second shooter. That means there are only a few moments left during the day, where I could use a drone. Hence, I decided that I’ll not add a drone to my gear. But I’m pretty sure that’s only a matter of time until I will buy one.

But, to be honest, when I look at these fantastic drone shots from our community, I’m about to buy a drone right away. It is merely mesmerizing how you can create new perspectives and situations while shooting with a drone. And what this “Best of” proof is that a drone can be used in different fields of photography. Newborn Photography // Time is a precious gift. We all know that – Hopefully. Since a snowy day in November, I truly understand the saying “how time flies“. You may ask what happened on this particular day back in November. No worries, I will tell you. I became the father of a beautiful baby girl.

LIFE STARTed TO CHANGE

Well, the pregnancy of my wife was already an absolutely exciting phase. All the thoughts that have been continuously running through our heads and kept us sometimes up all night. How will life be as parents? What is important to us when it comes to educating your own kid? What do we need to prepare? These are only a few of the tremendous amount of questions that popped up in our heads since we knew that we are going to have a baby soon. Besides that, we had a lot of joy together as a couple sharing these unique moments. We took beautiful maternity photos, shared the fantastic news with family and friends, and enjoyed some time alone, just feeling, hearing, and observing the baby belly. Suddenly, we’ve realized for the very first time, how fast the time flies as the pregnancy of my wife came to an end.

A NEW LIFE WAS BORN

Well, what can I say? Witnessing the birth of my daughter was the most overwhelming thing in my life. I’ve never felt so happy in my life before, and I will always be grateful for the strength of my amazing wife. The day of our baby’s birth was the day where our world changed completely. Our family is not us adults and our french bulldog anymore. We are now a family with a baby. Fully responsible for 24/7. Did this fact give and still is giving us anxiety? Absolutely! Do we regret it? NOT EVEN A SINGLE SECOND! We are happy and grateful for the gift of becoming parents.

HOW’S LIFE now?

So, as I am writing this text here, our daughter is not a baby anymore. She’s two years old and a real whirlwind. We play, we read, we laugh, and we cry together. But realizing that her birth was already two years ago makes us sentimental. How time flies. But, do you know what creates a smile back on our faces? The pictures that we took of our daughter being a newborn. Yes, it sounds cheesy, but babies grow up so fast. Taking pictures of your newborn baby is such a beautiful and memorable job to do.

We already featured the best wedding images of 2019 two weeks ago. Therefore we need to take a look at the best couple photos this time. As wedding photographers, we are able to sometimes hide behind the beauty of wedding outfits. That does not happen during a couple shoot, where you have to be more creative to achieve something unique.

Creative Photography – Best Of 2019 // In every field of photography, there are multiple ways to create stunning pictures. Well, maybe for some of the photographers, it is all about keeping consistency in their work that makes their images outstanding. For some photographers, consistency might be the thing that slows down their inspiration and ability to create their work. Hence, they are trying new ways and ideas to create unique photos.

STEP OUT OF THE COMFORT ZONE

A lot of photographers step out of their comfort zone. That means they keep their consistency in their work while capturing the shots they have been booked for. But they also try to extend their ways of shooting a wedding, couple shoots, portraits, or family sessions by adding some additional creativity to their portfolio. It is truly a win/win situation. On the one hand, the photographer gains new inspiration from capturing creative shots and evolves his skillset. On the other hand, the clients get the shots they are expecting, and additional to this, they’ll receive some creative work that will simply blow their minds away because they didn’t expect that “something like this is possible”.

HOW DO YOU START BEING CREATIVE?

Well, this is a point that every single one of us needs to find out for themselves. We are all individuals with different preferences, so there might be a difference between photographers when it comes to the source of their inspiration. Some of the photographers look at the work from others and gain their inspiration there. They see a creative photo and think, “I’ll try that cool sh** at my next shooting!”. This is awesome as they extend their creative mind by trying out new things. Other photographers may just walk around the city or woods. Suddenly, they start being creative because an idea popped up in their minds.
