How Accurate is AI Editing in Mirroring Your Editing Style?
There’s been a lot of discussion about AI in photography and its impact on photographers’ workflows. Last year, we explored whether AI is a ‘friend or foe‘ in the industry.
Today, we want to focus on something specific: AI Editing and whether it can truly replicate a photographer’s unique editing style.
Several platforms now offer AI Editing as a solution for photographers, saving countless hours of manual editing. By training AI with past edits, photographers can create personalized AI Editing Styles or Profiles to automate future edits.
But the question remains: how accurate are these AI-generated edits in emulating a photographer’s distinctive style?
AI Editing In Aftershoot
Aftershoot is an AI Culling and Editing app that has recently launched its upgraded AI Editing Experience – Aftershoot Edits 2.0. It has a host of new updates and features, which we will explore later in this article, and aims to give consistent edits, every time.
Editing in Aftershoot can be done either by creating your own AI Editing Profile or using any of the pre-existing AI Styles which can be availed from the Aftershoot Marketplace. The Marketplace also includes exclusive Creator Styles, which are signature editing styles created in collaboration with some of the leading photographers in the world like Esteban Gil, Lilly Red, and Joy Zamora.
How Does It Work?
To create your own Personal AI Editing Style, you can start off by uploading a minimum of 2,500 images to train Aftershoot’s AI to understand your own editing style. Once done, you’ll have your profile created and you can continue to train it further with every batch of new edits that you work on.
Let’s say you edit a bunch of images in Aftershoot and take them to Lightroom for some final touch-ups and fine-tuning, you can then later bring those further edited images back into Aftershoot to improve your personal AI editing profile. This way, Aftershoot’s AI keeps understanding your editing style better and continues improving itself getting you closer to the look you want.
In case you don’t have as many edited photos or if you’re looking to add some new styles to your editing, you can choose from a number of pre-existing AI Profiles in the Aftershoot Marketplace. These are free to use and offer a varied style of edits that you can choose according to your needs.
There are a few Creator Styles as well if you’ve been looking for some pro-level editing. Famous wedding photographers like Esteban Gil, Lilly Red, and Joy Zamora all have their Creator Styles in Aftershoot. So you can easily edit in their signature style and add some zing to your edits.
