Forest Boudoir Session

Hey Josée! Tell us a little bit more about your stunning Forest Boudoir Session!

This intimate session took place in a Bavarian forest in Germany. It was amazing. The forest was full of ferns and we also found a beautiful little river. We were shooting at the end of the day. I simply love to shoot with the soft light in the evening. It makes everything a little bit more mysterious and sensual.

I think a boudoir couple session is a different and beautiful way to remember the love between two loving humans years later. And I do believe that this kind of photoshoot has to be shot in a really sensually way.

Aesthetic and sensuality are two important things in my photography. I like to represent love and tenderness in a deeply sensual, romantic and cinematic way. Therefore, I love to make such session out there in nature. It feels raw, pure and intense.

What about the gear? What did you use at this session?

I shot this whole session with a Nikon D750. Additional to this I used two lenses, the Sigma 35mm 1.4 and Sigma 50 mm 1.4.

Boho Elopement – Love Train

Hey Ashley! Tell us a little bit more about your stunning Boho Elopement!

This session was a dream. Every thing about it was straight up perfection in my eyes. I wanted the shoot to be simple but elegant.The inspiration for the styled elopement was the dress! It was created by Trista Smith. 

So my hair and makeup team decided subtleties with little pops of character was the way to go. So, Erika Appel, went for a half-up half-down look while creating a headband of braids with Jade’s hair. Sarah Jerger, made sure Jade’s natural features were the highlight and just enhanced her gorgeous features and then added a beautiful rosy lip color.

Florals were done by Alison Wiebe, she came up with the most beautiful whimsical bouquet ever, with so many unique looking flowers.

Awesome! And who is the couple? 

These two gorgeous human beings are Jade & Zack and probably the only reason this session was as amazing as it was. The love they have for each other is amazing! They have the sweetest souls.

Where took this Boho Elopement session place?

This wonderful session took place up at Artist Point, in Washington State. It brings all those glorious PNW vibes!

Surf Engagement Session – Love Train

Hey Sufia! Tell us a little bit more about your stunning Surf Engagement Session!

There is nothing like waking up before sunrise and heading down to the beach. When I envisioned a sultry surf session, I knew the perfect couple to ask. Jessica and Austin recently started a project called “Slow Your Roll”. These two are all about surf, sun, and traveling and want to encourage everyone to get out and see the world.

What about your gear? What did you use at this session?

My goal for this shoot was to experiment composition. I shot with a Nikon D750 alongside a Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 and Nikon 50mm 1.8. And yes… I did get in the water for those shots… and yes, I did get hit by a wave. It was worth it!

These images were taken at Pitt Lake in Pitt Meadows, BC, Canada. We shot in the middle of the day so there was a ton of harsh light, which I wanted to work with for their session so I was surprised when the sun dipped behind to clouds to give us that nice diffused light. I am not complaining though!

“Hey Paul! Tell us a little bit about this couple and your session.”

It all started with a giveaway, I was getting desperate because we had a warm winter in Romania and I thought I could not get a couple for a winter session. I hosted a little contest between my friends on facebook and chose them because you could really see their love for each other.

Lia and Vlad, live in the small city of Sibiu, Romania. They were really happy for getting the chance to make this shoot because it was their first photo-session together ever. They love to go on adventures and explore new and uncharted places. I also found out that they love winter, so the cold weather was perfect for them.

The session was taken in Fagaras mountains. We walked up to the Balea waterfall, and even some of the photos are shot on the legendary Transfagarasan road. This road is one of the most amazing ones in Romania (maybe even in Europe), but in winter the most spectacular part of the road is unfortunately closed.

The photos were shot on a Nikon D750 and a 35 1.4 Sigma Art lens. Edited with LKO presets.

“Hey Hannah! Tell us a little bit about this couple and your session.”

“This session took place in a really cool location, its a “ghost town” formerly called Alder, Washington. The town flooded over 70 years ago and was completely wiped out. Now the area where the town used to sit is a 7 mile wide man made lake which was created by the construction of the alder dam.

In the summer, for miles around, this area is covered by over 20 feet of glacier water, how ever in the winter the dam “drains” the lake and almost the entire river clears out and you can literally walk for miles across the bottom of the lake. You can even walk between the 5 islands that sit in the middle of the lake.

Bethany and Caleb, the couple, are good friends of mine. They both met doing musical theatre together. They are both dancers (which in my opinion translates to great models!). They are truly some of the most fun loving and sweet people I know! And they are always down for an adventure (such as getting caked in mud while doing a photoshoot at the bottom of a river!).”

“What gear did you use?”

I shoot on the Canon 5D Mark IV, for this shoot I mostly used the Sigma 35mm Art lens and the Canon 50mm 1.4 lens. For editing I used many heavily tweaked variations of LXC 04.

Taylor & Jamey are amazing humans. Some of my favorite! A few years back I did a Bridal shoot with them, They were newly dating and their love was seamless…making for a REALLY easy shoot. They couldn’t take their eyes off each other and I couldn’t take my camera off of them.

Last week I got the privilege to work with them again. They are the type of people you could just hang out with for days….or years. Taylor and Jamey have this contagious personality. They make “work” feel like play.
In my opinion, I would classify them as ” Unicorns”. I hope you enjoy the “Unicorn” photos as much as I do.”

Young love is one of life’s sweetest gifts.

After marrying my own high school sweetheart and having his beautiful, then, 10 year old cousin Lindsey as our flower girl, I was all too happy to capture the love she now shares with her own high school sweet heart, Kevin.

These love birds have been nurturing their beautiful bond and friendship since they were just young pups. She was the all american, soccer playing, sun bathing good girl next door. He was the UFC fighting, dirt bike riding bad boy we all warned her to steer clear from and yet love found a healthy place to grow.

It all began when Kevin wrestled with her older brother in high school and made the first move while Lindsey was keeping score for one of their meets. Like most young love stories, theirs came with a break up somewhere in the middle and yet a party bump in and a Snapchat from Lindsey got the fires burning again until we arrive to current day.

These two will be making promises of marriage to one another this fall, here in northern California witnessed by their own flower girl, ( their 2 year old daughter) Teigen Rae as well as many friends and family.

My husband will be their officiant and needless to say, we are all very happy Lindsey chose Kevin and that God has continued to bless and guide their love story and blossoming family.

“One early afternoon on a Thursday, I was sitting on the beach alone and I saw this couple running around being young and free, puffing and passing a joint, taking selfies — ya know, basically doing vacation the right way.

I told myself I’m just going to walk up to them and hand them my business card and tell them if they ever wanted to shoot some stuff to contact me (I’m super awkward).

I wasn’t sure if they were local or on vacation, because the beach we were at is usually crowded by locals, but surprisingly, later that day they actually shot me a text to book me!

They were from North Carolina and they really wanted some photos while they were here in Florida. I told her my price and then we shot these amazing photos the very next day at sunrise.

To be honest, I had no expectations for them or for myself. They were very young but still very mature.

I was however, excited to see if i had it in me to capture that young care free love that they exuded on the day I first met them. Was I able to get those moments?? Can I do this..??  I just kept saying that to myself.

I knew if i stayed focused and aware of the emotions I was trying to capture all would fall into place.

So from the moment I picked my camera up. It was instant. There they were, laughing and running around— grabbing one another.

Man, They totally shocked me, I was dying to photograph what they were doing and here was my moment!
I think I shocked myself more than anything. Honestly, it was a beautiful kick ass morning.”

“This beautiful couple reached out to me to recreate the most magical day of their lives – Their engagement.

Having met each other in the heart of Portland, what better place to do the session than our own local carnival right downtown? As you cruise through this set, you will be captivated by this couple just as I was. Their love is not shy. It is loud, joyous, and beautiful.

Tatiana showed up in a cascading 2 piece gown by Terani Couture. I knew this was going to be incredible. Not to take away from Nate, who custom made his own hat and had a styled topshop blazer on.

So off we went! We loaded up on tickets. Stood in line and went up to the top of the ferris wheel where Tatiana and Nate looked over the city together, the very place the met. They got dizzy on the vertigo swings, and shared a gigantic fruity pineapple drink.

This couple had me seeing stars! Their beauty is apparent, but what was more captivating was their love for one another.”
